At Sand Dance Tyres, we to ke tyres seriously because tyres are the only thing between a driver's vehicle and the road. Reason why, we advice that tyres need to be regularly checked and maintained to keep you safe at all times.
As tyres are used, it is normal for the tread to gradually become shallower and overall tyre performance to change. Regularly checking the tread depth and wear condition of each tyre on your vehicle will help you detect needed maintenance as also will let you know when it's time to replace a tyre.
Why tyre wear matters
Too little tyre tread can create unsafe driving conditions. When tyres can't grip the road, a driver may lose control of his or her vehicle. Anytime precipitation gets between your tyres and the road, you need the tread to cut through it and maintain as much contact with the road surface as possible. The more shallow your tyre tread, the more easily you may lose traction and grip when driving.
What is the minimum tyre tread depth?
In the UAE, the minimum legal tread is 1.6mm which requires motorists to replace a tyre when the tyre wears down to that depth.
How do you know if you've reached the 1.6mm threshold?
Use the tyre tread depth indicators found within the tread grooves. Every passenger, light truck, and medium truck tyre has these indicators, also known as wear bars, at various places around the tyre. Tread depth indicators are there so you can visually determine whether you have reached 1.6mm in that groove without having to measure the depth with a tool. Replace any tyre where the tread ribs become flush with the indicator bars.

The key to proper alignment is to adjust the angles of the tyres and their contact with the road in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's specifications.
